   Che si dice? Come butta? Saluto tra persone che già si conoscono, che si aspetta un 'niente di che' più che vere notizie.

   Seguito da un complemento, diventa invece una genuina richiesta di informazioni: 'what's the story with the buses?' (come siamo messi con gli autobus?).

Parallelo quasi ricalcato su 'what's the craic': entrambi chiedono novità. Il saluto contratto 'story?' si è diffuso in tutto il paese partendo da Dublino negli anni Novanta ed è ormai generale.
