バズる (bazuru)

What it means

   To go viral. Of a post, a video or a shop that suddenly has a queue round the block because of one.

2. 2.

   炎上する (enjō suru), 'to go up in flames', is the negative counterpart — going viral for the wrong reasons.

  That video is absolutely everywhere.

• バズった結果、炎上した。

  It went viral and then the pile-on started.

Where it comes from

English 'buzz' plus the -る verb ending, the same machinery as ググる and サボる.
